Supplemental Instructional Approaches and Programs include Lively Letters, a multi-sensory approach for learning letter sounds and phonics, and InferCabulary focusing on Tier-2 vocabulary instruction

LIVELY LETTERS
Lively Letters instruction develops students' phonemic awareness and phonics skills to the level of automaticity. Lively Letters is a research-based and clinically proven, multi-sensory reading program that uses imagery and mnemonics ( memory cues) to facilitate learning. Students make sense of abstract letters and sounds with ease when using lively characters to decode familiar and unfamiliar words.

INFERCABULARY
Infercabulary is a web-based program that teaches students new words using images and critical thinking. Students infer the meanings of words from different contexts and examples, instead of memorizing definitions. This helps them learn words deeply and remember them better. Infercabulary is a fun and engaging way to expand vocabulary! Infercabulary is especially helpful for students with visual surface dyslexia, a condition that makes it hard to read and spell words that are irregular or unfamiliar. For example, words like “yacht”, “colonel”, or “island” can be difficult for them. Infercabulary helps them overcome this challenge and enjoy reading more.
Assessments, align with student’s individual reading plan and are selected to evaluate specific skill areas, serving as a guide to highlight strengths and pinpoint areas for improvement. Some screening tools incur a fee.
